I was in my attic last night and found that the outside of my water heater is all rusty. There are some areas where there are holes through the metal. I did not find any water in the pan under the water heater so it does not seem to be leaking now. What should I do?

The water heater in question was installed properly and has been in use for about two years. It makes a clanking noise when the water is turned on and when the commodes are flushed. This happens anywhere in the house. What could be the problem?

I am a single person and live alone. Most mornings I still run out of hot water when taking a shower. My house is all-electric and can’t seem to find a problem with my water heater. Do you have any suggestions?
