Last Christmas I had problems with my outside lights causing the breaker on the outlet to go off. Sometimes when I would push the reset button it would just go off again. Is there any way to keep this from happening?

I bought an older home (about 35 years old) and the inspector told us that there are no GFCI’s where they are needed. I am not 100% sure how to correct this. How do I go about having this taken care of?
